Matterhorn was founded in the early 1970's to focus solely on the financial institutions’ loan-related insurance needs. We wrote our first Lenders Single Interest policy in 1972 and by the late 1970’s had become the market leader in this specialty insurance program. Although Lender’s Single Interest insurance remains our core insurance product today, we have added a number of other insurance programs to protect a financial institution’s interest in consumer loan collateral and mortgaged property.
In June of 2000 Matterhorn was acquired by BMSI Holdings, the parent company of BancInsure, Inc. This partnership offered exciting additions to the BancInsure family of products and services by bringing to BancInsure Matterhorn’s expertise in designing and administering insurance solutions for exposures related to a financial institution’s lending activities.
